Marble & granite in Harrisonburg, VA

Choose the slab, not a sample.

Walk our slab yard on Pleasant Valley Road and pick the exact piece of marble or granite for your home.

Cut in our own shop.

We fabricate on site in Harrisonburg, so your countertop is cut a few steps from the slab you chose.

Every edge, finished your way.

Choose the edge profile and the surface, from soft honed to mirror polish. The details are what make stone look built in.

Marble or granite?

Both are natural stone, cut from a single quarried block. They behave differently once they are in your kitchen, so here is the short version.

Close view of polished white marble with soft grey veining

Marble

Soft veining, cool to the touch, and the classic surface for baths and baking. It is softer than granite and etches with acids, so it wears a gentle patina over the years.

Feel
Cool, smooth, softly veined
Strength
Softer stone; lemon, wine and vinegar can etch it
Best for
Vanities, baking counters, fireplace surrounds
Close view of polished dark granite flecked with grey, white and mica

Granite

Dense, speckled and very hard. Granite stands up to heat, knives and daily cooking, and a sealed slab resists most stains.

Feel
Speckled, glassy, flecked with mica
Strength
Very hard; handles heat and heavy use
Best for
Busy kitchens, islands, outdoor kitchens
